Lone Wolf Fishing Charters

Vern Munk is owner/operator of Lone Wolf Fishing Charters. Vern started working as a fishing guide at the age of fourteen at his aunt and uncles “Hornby Island Lodge” and he has been guiding ever since.

Vern came to the islands as a guest of the North Coast Fishing Lodges and after several years of fishing the islands as a guest, he placed second in a derby that gave him a $10,000 prize. It was after these experiences that Vern decided to move to the islands and he has been operating a fishing charter business here since 1995.

When Vern is not out on a fishing charter, he is fishing for his own pleasure. Vern loves to fish and has made it his passion to find the “spots” that result in a fantastic fishing experience

Cartwright Sound Charters

There are approximately 150 Islands in the chain which spans nearly 200 miles from North to South. The Islands are located 60 miles off the coast of British Columbia and 50 miles South of the Alaska Border.

What makes these Islands so special is how their location interrupts the migration of salmon returning to spawn. These salmon are returning to virtually every river along the West Coast of North America. Consequently, this is the reason we enjoy such a long fishing season. From the first session of the season in May until the last session of the season in September, we enjoy ‘Prime Season’ fishing. No shoulder season here! King (Spring) salmon start to pass by the Islands as early as April and continue right into October. We have an abundance of Kings through the entire season.

Golden Spruce Motel

The sucsessful way to explore the Charlottes is to have a Red Snapper Guide, who has knowledge and experience for many years on these Misty Islands.

Tim and Marg Fennell have that knowledge and experience. They have lived and work for over 15 years on the Queen Charlotte Islands and as boat owners, scubainstructors and as impressed sportfishers. They know where to go, on water and on land. Don`t be shy, and ask the captain for highlights on a charter like old Haida Sites, Seals, See-lions, Whales,Tidal pools, hot spots for diving or fishing etc.
